Frequently asked questions

We've got you covered.

Is there a dog cone alternative ?

Commonly referred to as Elizabethan collars, 'e-collars,' or the notorious 'cone of shame,' these devices are designed to stop pets from scratching their surgical wounds. However, they can make it difficult for pets to sleep, eat, drink, or move freely. Instead of the cone, you might choose soft e-collars, inflatable collars, or neck control collars, which limit movement and vision less. An alternative worth considering is our unique patented leg sleeve by Pupcovery®. It offers protection against licking and scratching while being more flexible and breathable, enabling your pup to move and play without the stress of their injury.

How long do I keep the sleeves on my dog ?

We recommend to periodically check the surgical site, removing the sleeve every couple of days.

How do I wash the sleeves ?

Yes, our dog surgery sleeves are all machine washable on a low heat cycle, and line dried. You can find more information in your care instructions sent to you by email.

Does my dog need to wear an e-collar too ?

In general, most dogs do not require an e-collar when using the Pupcovery®. That said, some dogs with elevated anxiety or a history of destructive chewing might pose a greater risk of trying to chew on the Pupcovery®. Fortunately, many dogs adapt well and leave the sleeve alone. It’s advisable to keep an eye on your dog for the first few hours after applying the sleeve to check for any chewing attempts

What are the sleeves made from ?

Our front dog surgery sleeves are made from : 78% Neoprene, 10% Polyester, 10% Nylon, 2% Aramid Fabric

What if the sleeves are too long ?

Our dog surgery sleeves are length adjustable. Simply roll them up as highlighted in our tutorial video at the top of this page.

Can the sleeves be used for rear legs ?

Our sleeves are tailored for front legs only, however we will be releasing a second product for the rear legs soon.

How long does delivery take ?

Your order processing generally takes 24 hours, in most cases apart from public holidays will be shipped the next day. Our standard shipping will take 2-4 working days. You can find more information on our shipping page.

  • Step 1

Put one leg at a time through the sleeves. We found the easiest way is to have your dog lay on one side.

  • Step 2

Secure the velcro tab, leaving a finger width of room so that it's not too tight.

  • Step 3

    Fasten the plastic buckles.

  • Step 4

Further adjust the straps as needed in order to get a better shaped fit.

  • Step 5

We know dogs come in all shapes and sizes. If needed, roll the sleeves up to achieve the required length.

  • Step 6

Periodically check on the surgery site, follow instructions as directed by your vet since recovery periods will vary.
